In just a few days, I’ll be attending my first-ever BlogHer Convention. And I am nearly exploding with how excited I am. Sure, I’m excited about the prospect of meeting tons of new people and visiting New York for only the second time in my life and meeting some super-cool bloggers that I’ve only ever read about online.
And yes, I will be within breathing/touching/hugging if I did that kind of thing distance of people like director Ava DuVernay and Essence Editor-in-Chief Vanessa De Luca and #BlackLivesMatter co-founders Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi and of course a host of other notables.
But what I’m most excited about is the opportunity to connect with and offer my guidance and expertise to a handful of interested attendees during a Writing Lab where I will provide an “editor’s checklist” – things you should double-check before hitting publish on your post. I’ll be in great company – there are so many talented ladies and gents leading these workshops and I am honored to be among them.
If you’re already registered, great, I hope to see you there. If you’re not, what are you waiting for? The clock is ticking and you don’t want to miss out on this awesome event.
